After completing his primary and secondary education in Ankara, he graduated from the Financial and Administrative Sciences Faculty of Anadolu University in Eskişehir. He studies at Loughborogh University in England in 1990 after which he returned to Turkey where he worked for various firms. He founded Pimeks Platic Joinery Systems in 1993; then with his life companion Aysu Yavuz and the companies they founded, they turned Pimeks Group into one of the sector's leading companies over the years.

An honorary member of TÜGİAD -- Association of Young Businessmen of Turkey -- Haluk Tümer Yavuz is married and the father of two children.
