After completing her primary and secondary education in Ankara, she graduated from the Economy Department of the Financial and Administrative Sciences Faculty of Anadolu University in Eskişehir. 

She entered the construction sector working for a private firm between 1990 and 1994, during which time she manages the sales and project development processed for glass and glass block products imported from Germany and the United States. She underwent training in glass in the United States.

She left in 1995 to found her own firm Pimeks Construction Supplies Ltd and she supported the Pimeks Plastic Joinery Systems firm founded by her husband

Haluk Tümer Yavuz in 1993. They subsequently joined forces and went into business together under the Pimeks Group founding companies for aluminium facade systems, solar shading systems, steel, and stainless steel. 

Aysu Yavuz, a member of the TÜSİAD Turkish Industry and Business People's Association, also served as the President of the ANGİKAD Entrepreneur Business Women's Association from 2018 to 2021.

She is married and the mother of two children.
